Owner and President of Sigvaldason Fine Art, Nolan Sigvaldason has been helping collectors, businesses and corporations add works of art to their collections since 2010. Operating mainly as a private art dealer, he helped add significant works of art to collections in Manitoba and throughout Canada. Some of these artists include works by well known Canadian artists Emily Carr, JW Morrice, Norval Morrisseau, Maud Lewis and Leo Mol.
In 2012, Nolan worked for the first time at the International Art Fair in Toronto (now Art Toronto), selling a number of high end artworks to collectors for Pegasus Gallery of Canadian Art. In 2013, he opened his first public fine art gallery in Arborg, Manitoba. Then in 2014 he held his first Live Canadian and International Art Auction at The Winnipeg Winter Club with host and auctioneer Big Daddy Tazz. Since then, he has held many fine art auctions and has shipped amd sold artwork to countries around the world.
Sigvaldason Fine Art Inc. (SFA) was established in 2023 in Gimli, Manitoba, and is located at 70 Centre St. The gallery specializes in Historical and Contemporary Canadian Art. The town of Gimli is one of Manitoba’s busiest tourist communities in the summer, hosting a number of world class events and attractions including “Islendingadagurinn” the Icelandic Festival of Manitoba, first held in 1890. The gallery is located directly down the street from the Gimli Harbour, the gallery is conveniently located for ease of access with plenty of parking.

Born in Shelbourne, Ontario, Bernice showed artistic talents as a young child. She studied at the Ontario College of Art, where she was mentored by J.W. Beatty, a close friend of Tom Thomson and Franklin Carmichael. A close friend of Peter Sheppard, also a J.W. Beatty student, she and Sheppard visited Muskoka and Parry Sound many times. They sketched en plein air and captured local landscapes in the 1930’s and 1940’s.
